Is UPDF Shortlisted Candidates 2024 Out?
Yes, Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces has shortlisted list of successful candidates for the 2024 UPDF recruitment exercise. Whether you applied as an officer or cadet, you can check the shortlist anyways.
This list also contain names of applicants for Air Force, Land Force, Navy and Special Force command. Below are the guidelines to check the shortlist.
How to Check UPDF Shortlisted Candidates 2024
Fundamentally, all shortlisted candidates would get enlistment notification either via email or SMS but a more proactive way to validate if you’ve shortlisted is taking the steps below.
1. Visit the District/City notice board where you reside to check the list as the comprehensive same of successful applicants will be pasted there. You could also visit UPDF district headquarters to still access the shortlist.
2. You can visit the UPDF career portal, scroll through the page carefully, locate “list of successful applicants”, download the PDF, open the file and search for your name.
Eligibility Criteria
Before your name appears among UPDF shortlisted candidates, there are certain factors that comes to play and this includes the following.
- Only candidates who were able to submit their application before July 14, 2024 will be shortlisted.
- Attaching forge documents or giving false information during application makes your entry invalid.
- Trying to canvass the application form to gain favouritism is not allowed.
- Submitting your application without recommendations from LCI, LCII, or LCIII results to invalid entry.
- Applications from candidates who are within the age range of 18 to 22 years.

When is UPDF Screening Date, Time & Venue?
The screening for UPDF recruitment will commence from 1st to 14th July, 2024. Shortlisted candidates should get SMS or email notification about when their screening falls.
Ensure you go to the screening venue with all necessary documents including National ID and academic certificates. Only candidates who pass the screening phase shall be recruited.
