Eligibility Criteria for Canadian Army Recruitment 2024

For a full or part-time job in the Canadian Army, you must strictly adhere to the follow –

• Be a Canadian citizen
• Applicant (foreigner) must have a permanent resident and authorized to apply
• Candidate must be at least 17 years old at the time of the application, although there times which exception (enrollment as an Officer) are made for 16 years old individuals
• Applicant must have completed at least Grade 10 or 24 credits of Secondary IV in Quebec (some jobs need higher levels of education)
• Candidate who did not complete his/her education in Canada must have Educational Credential Assessments (ECAs) completed for high school and highest level of education before submission of application.

The Recruitment Process

To move on to the next stage of Canadian Army Recruitment, applicants must successfully complete each stage which involves six (6) stages.

Also, due to the high competition in the selection process, there is no guarantee of an employment offer for a successful completion.

Application Phase – Stage One (1)

In this stage, you must complete the CF application form, personnel screening, consent and authorization form, and two (2) letters of reference for applicants’ form.

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (eCFAT) – Stage Two (2)

At the second stage of the selection, your skills and abilities will be assessed through a written test which consists of; i.) 15 questions in 5 minutes for Verbal skills, ii.) 15 questions in 10 minutes for Spatial abilities, and iii.) 30 questions in 30 minutes for Problem-solving skills. 

Medical Examination – Stage Three (3)

You will undergo a medical examination for checks on your heart rate, blood pressure, and cholesterol level. During the medical examination, you will have to give your urine sample.

Fitness Assessment – State Four (4)

Your aerobic fitness, physical endurance, and muscle strength is the sole purpose of stage 4.

Reliability Check – Stage Five (5)

A conduct of the 5th stage is necessary for your background check including past criminal records. 

Interview – Stage Six (6)

In the final stage, a career counselor of the Canadian Forces will conduct the interview to know about your life experiences and qualities. In a nutshell, the idea is to check if you are fit for the job.
