Eligibility Criteria for IRI Recruitment 2024
The general requirements needed for appointment for the above detailed vacancies are;
i.) Education Qualification
To be eligible, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Degree in a relevant field
ii.) Experience and Knowledge
The candidate applying must have a minimum of 3 years of professional and practical experience. Previously worked directly with political parties, civil society organizations/NGOs and/or legislative bodies, and/or marginalized groups will be advantageous
iii.) Language Eligibility
The applicant must excel in spoken English and Swahili. Fluency in other languages will be considered advantageous.

Qualifications for Appointment
i.) Resident Program Director, Sudan
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; political science, international relations or related field
- You must have 8+ years experience in international development programming in the areas of democratic governance and politics
- The applicant must have experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa or the Middle East, preferably working with political parties.
- He/she must be able to prepare, present and negotiate complex and sensitive agreements and/or project proposals with agencies and donor communities
- With Arabic Language fluency, the applicant will be advantageous
ii.) Field Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
- The role requires a Degree or Better in Political Science, Monitoring and Evaluation or related
- Applicant must know about developing of data collection tools using different platforms such as kobo collect, Microsoft forms
- Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis methodologies is required
- You must have experienced drafting MEL workplan, understanding a logic model and MEL plan (optionally and an added advantage)
iii.) Senior Program Associate & Field Program Officer Positions
- Candidate applying must have an Undergraduate Degree in Political Science, International Relations or related field
- You must be knowledgeable about the politics, economics, history and culture of Kenya
- Demonstrated experience working with USG funded projects and familiarity with USG regulations and processes, especially USAID and U.S Department of State
- The applicant must be able to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate and lead the efforts of other staff to effectively meet program goals
iv.) Field Accountant
- This role requires a University Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related subject.
- You must be knowledgeable about general accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Applicant must possess demonstrate computer proficiency and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and basic accounting software packages
- The ability to work to strict deadlines is mandatory hence must be in possession of candidate applying
- Candidate applying must have Certification in CPA (K)
- An experience with JAMIS Prime accounting system, and time management and organizational skills are required for this role
v.) Program Officer
- You must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in political science, international relations, development or related field
- Experience in project cycle management, coordinating project activities, and monitoring and evaluation is a key requirement for this role
- Applicant must have a first-hand experience writing reports and project proposals
- Candidate must be able to plan and organize workflow to tight timeframes, handle multiple tasks, and be flexible with changing priorities at needed time
- He/she must know about methodologies and best practices for promoting gender equality, equity and women empowerment in general and in Kenya in particular
