International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) came into existence under the United Nations as a result of the 1974 World Food Conference held in Rome.

The essence of IFAD is to help countries eradicate food scarcity by financing subsistence, mechanical and even industrial farming projects and programmed orchestrated to improve food production system.

With this weighty task, more hands are required on table to help achieve the overall aim of the organization. Sequel to this, the management of IFAD do recruit qualified candidates to fill in vacant positions.

Educational Qualification and Requirements

Senior HR Specialist

The qualifications and criteria set out for applicants of this position are as follows:

• Candidates applying for this post must have a Master degree or equivalent qualification in Business Management, Human Resources Management, and Public Administration etc.
• Having a minimum of eight (8) years’ work experience.
• Ability to communicate in English, French, Spanish or Arabic is an added advantage.
• Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively using innovative styles and skills.
• Possess client-focused culture
• Gain momentum on time management
• Swift, rational and effective with decision-making
• Should be able to foster team work

Director, Sustainable Production

Candidates indicating interest for this position must:

• Have an Advanced University degree i.e. Masters in agriculture, Finance, Agric. Economics from a recognized university.
• Applicants with Ph.D. have an added advantage.
• Possessing relevant work experience related to this position for about ten (10) years is needed.
• Candidate must have worked in a multi-cultural organization before and understand what it entails.
• Applicant for this position should be able to communicate in English, French, Spanish or Arabic.
• Other key skills such as Project/Programme Management, knowledge strategy & management, partnership building, time management and strategy implementation is an added advantage.

Country Programme Coordinator

Person occupying this position must be a graduate with Master’s degree in Economics, Development policy, Rural Finance, Agriculture etc.

• A minimum of five (5) years working experience is required.
• Having experience with strategic documents and processes and hands and knowledge of operation, supervision and management of rural and agricultural development projects are necessary.
• Applicant should have excellent communication skill in either English, French or Arabic languages.
• Additional skills required are advocacy role, analytical skills, risk management, time management, adaptability and topical expertise.
