The Kenya Wildlife Service was founded as a State Corporation through the Act of Parliament with the primary focus of managing wildlife resources in Kenya in other to make the best out of it.

Eligibility Criteria
KWS recruitment requirements states that interested candidates must have a recognized means of identification e.g. is National ID or International passport.
Applicants must be within the age bracket of 18 and 26 years with no physical or medical challenge.
Having a criminal free record, possess at least mean grade D in Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) is an added advantage.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Deputy Director, Community Relations
- Candidates applying for this position must have a degree in either Social Science, Wildlife Management or any other relevant disciplines.
- Candidates with Master’s degree have an added advantage.
- Must have serve as a Senior Assistant Director for at least three (3) years.
- Attending a management training course that lasted for a minimum of one (1) month is mandatory.
- Applicant must be proficient in computer applications.
Director, Internal Audit
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a comparable qualification from an accredited institution
- Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a comparable qualification from an accredited institution
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
- Membership in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or the Institute of Internal Auditors of Kenya (IIA-K)
- A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant professional experience, with at least six (6) years in a senior management role
- Training in strategic leadership and governance from a recognized institution
- Completion of a management course lasting no less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Deputy Director, Parks & Reserves
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Wildlife Management, Security Studies, Criminology, Natural Resources, Environmental Studies, or a relevant equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
- Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management or a relevant equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the grade of Senior Assistant Director
- Completed Officers Paramilitary training course from a recognized institution
- Completed an advanced course in Wildlife Management from a recognized institution
- Training in strategic leadership and governance from a recognized institution
- Completed a management course lasting no less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Deputy Director, Community Relations & Education Service

- Training in strategic leadership and governance from a recognized institution
- Completed a management course lasting no less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Deputy Director, Conservation Science Programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Wildlife Management, Security Studies, Criminology, Natural Resources, Environmental Studies, or a relevant equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
- Master’s degree in a related field of study from a recognized institution
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the grade of Senior Assistant Director
- Completed Officers Paramilitary training course from a recognized institution
- Completed an advanced course in a relevant field of specialization
- Training in strategic leadership and governance from a recognized institution
- Completed a management course lasting no less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Director Deputy Director, Wildlife Protection
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Wildlife Management, Security Studies, Criminology, Natural Resources, Environmental Studies, or a relevant equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
- Master’s degree in a security-related field from a recognized institution
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the grade of Senior Assistant Director
- Completed Officers Paramilitary training course from a recognized institution
- Completed an advanced course in Wildlife Management from a recognized institution
- Training in strategic leadership and governance from a recognized institution
- Completed a management course lasting no less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution

KWS Recruitment Dates 2024
KWS recruitment exercise will hold from 5th to 18th August, 2024. Candidates are to submit application for desired position within the specified date.
