Requirements for NYREG Registration 2024/2025
An organisation seeking to be registered in the National Youth Organisation Register (NYREG) must satisfy the following;
- The Organisation must be non-profit oriented
- It must be non-governmental in origin and membership
- Must be duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria for at least six (6) months
- The organisation must be non-partisan
- Must has the promotion of Youth Development as its primary aim and objective
- Must possess a bank account operated in the name of the organization
- Possession of a valid constitution, which clearly defines the aims and objectives of the organisation
- The organization must have a suitable office location/facilities that can be visited and assessed at any point
- It must possess a well-defined organizational structure and the requisite technical and human capacities
- Must have a minimum of 30% members of its executive who are of the age of 15 – 29 years old as stipulated by the National Youth Policy 2019; and also 30% Gender Balance where applicable
You are to note that organizations affiliated to political parties can also register but can not be accredited as National Youth Policy Implementing Partners at least at the moment.
NYREG Registration 2024 Guidelines
The procedures of the registration are as follows;
- The organisation is to apply online at www.youthandsport.gov.ng or www.noya.ng
- Once you have done that, create the organisation’s profile account on the registration portal
- The Ministry will then conduct a due diligence on the organisation’s application
- Once everything is done, a letter of registration will be issued to the organisation
Benefits of NYREG Registration
As issued by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, registered and approved organizations will be entitled to the following benefits;
- Opportunity to participate in the Ministry’s programmes, and events
- Inclusion in the National Database of Registered Youth Organisations
- Endorsement of its programmes by Ministry
Renewal of NYREG Registration
As a registered an approved Organisation, you will be required to renew your registration at an interval of 5 years. In return, this will put the organisation on a safer hand of still being into business.
Adding to that, registration and renewal of registration are cost-free.
De-Registration of an Organisation
According to the policy, the Ministry shall effect to de-register or revoke the registration of an organisation after 24 months (2 years) or under any or all of the following circumstances;
- A case of double registration
- When a criminal and/or fraudulent practice is detected within the organisation
- Whenever an organisation is deemed to be inactive for 24 months at minimum
Additionally, in the case of the organisation going dormant, it shall be officially written to the involved Ministry for revalidation and also stating the reasons for dormancy.
