Eligibility, Qualifications, and Skills Needed
You may ask who is eligible to apply. OCOB vacant positions are open to all Kenyan citizens who have National ID or Passport and then meets the requirements of chapter six (6) of Kenya constitution.
This could also be seen as the general requirements but more specifically, below are the qualifications and skills demanded for each role.
Director of Corporate Services
The occupant of this post will be responsible for preparing financial reports and ensuring that allocated funds are prudently used.
Educational Qualification: A Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in either Commerce, Business Administration, Business Management, or equivalent qualification is required.
Professional Qualification: Applicant of this position must be a Certified Public Accountant and also should be registered in the Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Nigeria (ICPAK).
Experience: He or should must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience including working at managerial levels.
Skills: You should be a computer literate, have good communication, administrative and managerial skills etc.
Manager Legal Services
Your duty would be to specifically be providing legal instructions and advice with regards to litigation, dispute resolution and legal compliance.
Educational Qualification: You must have a Masters and Bachelor degree in law from an approved university.
Professional Qualification: You should be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and be in good standing with Law Society of Kenya.
Experience: You should possess most minimal ten (10) years of work experience in relevant positions including ones at managerial level.
Skills: Been proficient in computer applications is basic, attending any management course that lasted at least one (1) month is mandatory and you should be able to conduct your duties professionally.
County Budget Coordinator
Your duty as County Budget Coordinator would be advising Controller of Budget on effective strategies to implement and authorize county budgets.
Educational Qualification: You need to have Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration etc. to qualify for this post.
Professional Qualification: Been certified by CPAK, ACCA or CFA is mandatory.
Experience: You must have served as Fiscal analyst in a reputable organization for not less than fur (4) years. An alternative to this is possess a total of eight (8) years of relevant work experience.
Skills: Been proficient in computer applications is basic, attending any management course that lasted at least one (1) month is mandatory and you should be able to conduct your duties professionally.
OCOB Recruitment Process
The Office of Controller of Budget, OCOB recruitment application is done offline through submission of necessary documents.
Get started by writing a cover letter indicating your preferred position, add to that an up-to-date CV, a copy of your National ID card, KRA tax compliance certificate, Certificate of good conduct from Directorate of Criminal investigation (DCI), then HELB and EACC clearance certificates etc.
