ODPC Recruitment Process

Office of the Data Protection Commissioner follows set out pattern to help select the best hands for vacant positions available. The phases involved are:

Vacancy Announcement: The recruitment process sets off when list of vacancies are made known to the public and applications are been invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates via the career portal.

Job Application: Persons who match the qualifications and requirements specified are to visit the online career portal to explore available options, complete the application form, attach necessary documents/certificates and then submit.

Review of Completed Applications: Office of the Data Protection Commissioner recruitment team will then review all submitted application to ascertain which candidates meet the requirements needed.

Shortlisting: Once applications have been approved, the list of shortlisted candidates will be published online via the official website or career portal.

ODPC Job Qualifications and Requirements

The requirements for each position vary but before that below are the general eligibility criteria which must be met by all interested candidates.

General Requirements

  • You must be a citizen of Kenya.
  • Having a National ID or Passport is mandatory.
  • Possessing relevant clearance certificates as specified in chapter 6 of the constitution is mandatory.
  • You should possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Candidates applying must also be computer literate.

Data Protection Officer – Inspection & Compliance

Education: Candidates aspiring for this position must have at least a mean grade of C+ in KCSE. A degree in either law, ICT or equivalent qualification.

Experience: Clearly a reasonable number of work experience would be appreciated preferably minimum of two (2) years+

Skill Set: Problem solving ability, risk management, creativity and analytical skills.

Data Protection Officer II – Regional Officer

Education: A minimum of mean grade C plus in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in law ICT, computer science etc. is required.

Experience: Candidates with at least two (2) years of experience have an added advantage.

Skill Set: Problem solving ability, risk management, creativity and analytical skills.

Assistant Records Management Officer II

Education: A C plain in KCSE, degree in Information Science, Library Science or Records management are required,

Experience: Clearly a reasonable number of work experience would be appreciated preferably minimum of two (2) years+
