The latest news concerning the Uganda People Defence Forces (UPDF) recruitment is that process is starting from Monday 1st July to 14th July, 2024 for the intake of nine thousand, six hundred and twenty seven (9,627) regular forces into infantry forces.

Uganda Peoples Defence Forces Recruitment Requirements

Nationality: All candidates applying for UPDF recruitment must be a citizen by birth and have a National ID card.

Qualification: You must have a minimum formal education of S.4 (UCE) from 2020 to 2023 and must have passed both English language and Mathematics.

Medical Condition & Age: Only applications from candidates between 18-22 years will be accepted. Also you must be medically and physically fit.

Other Requirements: Your application letter must be signed by either LCI, LCII, LCIII chairpersons while GISO or DISO and RDC are mandatory.

How to Apply for UPDF Recruitment 2024

Here are the step by step guidelines on how to successful apply for the ongoing Uganda Peoples Defence Forces recruitment.

Step 1: Application and Recommendations

Prospective applicants who wish to join the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) regular force must get recommendations from the following officials LCI, LCII, LCIII, GISO, and DISO. After securing these recommendations, candidates must submit their completed application forms to the office of the RDC. Here, they will be registered and await collection by UPDF teams. These teams will forward the applications to the Joint Staff Human Resource Management office for shortlisting.

Step 2: Shortlisting

The names of successful applicants will be published and displayed on District and City notice boards. Shortlisted candidates will be instructed to appear at designated recruitment centers for their final interviews.

Step 3: Recruitment Based on Population Figures

The recruitment process will be guided by the projected population figures of each District and City in Uganda. These figures will form the basis for the recruitment quotas.

Step 4: Quotas for the Recruitment

Recruitment quotas are determined by the population proportion of each City and District, based on the latest population update from UBOS as of June 25, 2023.

Step 5: Nationwide Recruitment

The Regular Force Recruitment for 2023/24 will take place across the entire country, covering all 135 districts and 11 cities in Uganda.
