Recruitment Process of Zambia Army
The Zambia Army just like other arm of the Defence Force have their own pattern of selecting candidates to ensure they’re capable and most suitable for the job.
This involves (i) Declaration of vacancies (ii) Indication of Interest by Candidates (iii) Evaluation and Shortlisting (iv) Screening (v) Training and Appointment etc.
1. Declaration of Vacancies
You know that Zambia Army recruitment process has begun when there is an official statement made via the official website inviting interested persons to submit application.
2. Indication of Interest by Candidates
Persons who have long awaited the process or have interest of working in the Zambian army will proceed to the recruitment portal to complete the application form on or before the set deadline.
3. Evaluation and Shortlisting
When the set application deadline elapse, submitted applications shall be evaluated to ascertain candidates who matches expectation. After the review, a list containing successful applicants and Zambia army shortlisted candidates shall be published online as PDF.
4. Screening
The shortlisted candidates are to report for screening according to the schedule on the shortlist PDF. The date, time and venue is included there. Those who miss this are out of the recruitment exercise.
5. Training and Appointment
Zambia recruit training usually last for about three (3) months and candidates who pass shall be offered letter of appointment and then assigned to duty stations.

2024 Zambia Army Recruitment Qualifications
Interested candidates interested in regular combat must have passed the Examination Council of Zambia and have at least 14 points in (Grade 12). Those applying for higher position must have either a diploma, certificates, or degrees etc.
General Requirements
The eligibility criteria and general requirements to apply for ZA recruitment includes:
- Being a Zambian citizen.
- Possessing a valid National Identity Card or Passport.
- Currently resides in any of Zambia cities.
- Should be free or criminal record as ex-convicts are not permitted to apply.
- Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Both male and female applicants must be at least 5m tall.
- Applicant must be mentally prepared, physically and medical fit is mandatory.
In addition to this, 2024 Zambia Army application form is open for interested persons from any of these provinces; Central Province, Western Province, Muchinga Province, Southern Province, North–Western Province, Northern Province Lusaka Province, Luapula Province, Eastern Province, Copperbelt Province etc.
