Requirements for Zambia Teachers Recruitment 2024
The eligibility criteria for the ongoing teachers job vacancies in Ministry of Education are as follows.
- Interested persons must be Zambian National at least 18 years and more.
- Applicant must be a registered member of Teaching Council of Zambia.
- Applicant should be willing to relocate to any part of Zambia where their services will be needed for a minimum period of four (4) years before applying for a transfer.
- Transfer will only be made for persons with urgent and outstanding cases.
- Applicant must have graduate from a recognized institution and also completed teachers training.
- All candidates are required to attach a copy of payment evidence for verification of Grade 12 results with Examinations Council of Zambia.

Early Childhood Education Teacher
- Candidates applying for this role must have a Grade twelve (12) school certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) with a minimum of five (5) credits which must include English language.
- Applicants of this role must have graduated from an approved Teacher Training College.
- The acceptable minimum period of training is three (3) years for Diploma and two (2) years for certificate.
Primary School Teacher
- It is mandatory that you attended a Teacher Training College and collected either a Diploma, Degree or equivalent qualification.
- The Diploma training must have lasted for at least three (3) years while degree should be four (4) years.
- A compulsory five (5) credits in General Certificate of Education (GCE) or Grade Twelve (12) school certificate including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject is required.
Secondary School Teacher
- For this post, candidates who are trained to teach Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Design and Technology, Business Studies, ICT Agricultural Science of Zambian languages have an added advantage and will be given priority.
- Additionally, applicant must have been trained in an accredited Teachers Training College for either Diploma or Degree.
- He or she must have Grade twelve (12) school certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) with at least a merit in teaching subjects and five (5) credit passes.
Can Applicants with Disabilities Apply?
Definitely interested persons living with disabilities who are registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia and Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) possessing both GCE, Diploma and Degree can apply directly to the Commission Secretary at the Teaching Service Commission at no cost.
