About Agripreneurs Program Cohort II

It has been the burden of Kenyan government to enhance the economic sector through investments in the agricultural sector.

Sequel to this, the Government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in collaboration with World Bank via NAVCDP and FRSP projects is set to empower agri-businesses across the 46 counties of the country.

The major focus of this program is to help youths most especially cultivate the appropriate skills for agricultural entrepreneurship.

With innovative and resources changes in mind, Agripreneurs shall be operating as independent businesses offering services and products to farmers to ensure sustainability and scalability.

When is Agripreneur Recruitment 2024 Starting?

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development Agripreneur recruitment is starting from Monday 21st till Wednesday 30th October, 2024. Persons interested in this job must ensure to complete application within the set timeframe.

Note that the application form is totally free and easily accessible online either at Kenya Ministry of Agriculture or the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project website.

Standard Incubatee

A young agripreneur eligible for the ENABLE Youth Kenya Program as a standard incubatee should have a business with an annual turnover of less than KES 500,000.

They must be open to receiving capacity building and/or funding to help their business grow and achieve sustainability.

The standard incubatee should already have an operational agribusiness. This group will undergo incubation and training for a duration of 3 to 6 months.

The individual must hold a certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized institution.

Accelerated Incubatee

An accelerated incubatee is a young agripreneur whose agribusiness venture has been generating an annual turnover of over KES 500,000.

They must be ready to receive capacity building and/or funding to scale up their operations. To qualify, their business must have been running for more than 12 months.

This category will undergo a shorter incubation and training period of up to 3 months.

As with the standard incubatees, they must possess a certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized institution.

Eligibility Criteria for Agripreneur Recruitment 2024

All interested persons are expected to meet these requirements before considered for the next phase of the recruitment.

• It is mandatory that applicants possess a valid National ID card or Passport.
• Must have a Degree or Diploma in Agronomy, Horticulture, Livestock Production/Health, Range management, Agricultural Economics, Agric Engineering, Agric Business etc.
• Qualification must be from a recognized institution in Kenya.
• Applicants that are more than 35 years must not apply.
• Candidates applying must be residing in ward of AP application
• Applicant must be ICT inclined and as well possess a smart phone
• Candidates should be able to communicate effective in both English and local dialect.
• Those with years of experience in Agricultural development have an added advantage.
• Participating in Farmer profiling exercise is a plus.
• The program will be on full time basis therefore ensure you avail yourself.
