Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NAMATA) is focused n providing integrated, efficient, effective and sustainable public transport system within the Metropolitan axis.

Additionally, the authority develops, formulate and execute reliable strategies, plans and policies for public transport system in Nairobi.

Qualifications and Requirements Needed

There are specific criteria applicants must meet in other to get appointed for any of the open post announced.

It is generally expected that applicants of this recruitment must have a government issued ID card e.g. International passport, Driver’s license or National Identity Card etc.

Possessing clearance certificates from relevant authorities according to the requirements of chapter six (6) of Kenya constitution is mandatory.

You must also have at least D+ (plus) in Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) which must include English and Kiswahili Languages.

1. Director of Public Transport

  • Applicant of this position must have a bachelor’s degree in either Engineering, Urban Planning, Standardization, Architecture, Project Management, Information Systems, Law, Communication Technology etc.
  • Those with Master’s degree in Transport economics, Transport engineering, Transport planning or related discipline have an added advantage.
  • Candidates applying for this position must have at least twelve (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Attending at least four (4) weeks of leadership course is necessary.
  • Applicant of this position must also be proficient in computer applicants and be able to exhibit competence through work performance.

2. Office Assistant

  • Applicants of this position must possess proficiency in English and Kiswahili languages.
  • Applicant must possess good inter-personal skill and excellent planning and organization skills.

3. Finance Officer

  • Applicant of this position must have Bachelor’s degree n Commerce, Business Administration, and Business Management etc.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, strong communications and reporting skills as well as problem solving and analytical skill is necessary.

NaMATA Recruitment 2024 Deadline

Recruitment Process

NaMATA recruitment process consists of four (4) stages which all applicants must pass through to ascertain their readiness and capability to work in the authority.

1. Open Invitation

This is the initial stage of this process as the management will make a public announcement either through their official website or other digital/non-digital medium about vacant positions in the authority and thereby invites application from interested persons.

2. Application Submission

Those that are then interested will proceed to submit an application for the positions made known while ensuring they meet the eligibility criteria and send in their application before the set deadline.

3. Review and Shortlisting

NaMATA will review submitted applications and later on within two (2) weeks in most cases release the names of applicants who met the spelled out requirements.

4. Screening and Deployment

All the shortlisted candidates are then invited for screening where validation of certificates and other documents are cross-examine for authenticity. Candidates who pass this phase will be inducted into the authority and then deployed for responsibilities.
