What Qualifications are Needed?

A master’s or bachelor degree in either Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Social Sciences, Marketing, Business Administration, Law, Strategic Management, Project Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution is needed.

Candidates with Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant discipline can also apply. Same goes to those with Diploma.

In addition to this, having a minimum of D+ mean grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) is necessary. If you’re a member of relevant professional body then you have an added advantage.

General Requirements

Adding up to the qualifications needed, here are other criteria you must meet.

You should possess atleast two (2) to three (3) years of relevant work experience except if you’re applying for internship or industrial attachment.

Behavioural competencies such as planning, forecasting, interpersonal, emotional, presentation, public relations, and communication skills etc.

Adherence to the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the constitution such as possess clearance certificates is necessary.

It is also necessary you have a valid National ID card or passport.

KBC Recruitment Process

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation recruitment exercise comprises of three (3) major phases which are; (i) Submission of application (ii) Review and shortlisting of applicants (iii) Screening and appointment.

Submission of Application involves providing required details including academic and professional certifications via KBC recruitment portal.

Review and shortlisting is done after the application window is closed. The HR department will check submitted application and then select those that best qualify.

The last phase involves inviting shortlisted applicants for screening and then those that sail through the process will be appointed for vacant roles.
