Remember that as the Managing Director, you’re the primary accounting officer of the company because of overseeing the day-to-day management and operations. This also entails assigning responsibilities and supervising staff and ensuring all activities align with the organizational set goals.

  • Leadership and Strategy: You will be providing strategic leadership, fostering the vision, mission, and direction of the company.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

To qualify for this post, below are the criteria which you must adhere to:

Fundamentally, candidates applying must have a valid National ID or International passport and also in line with the requirements of Chapter six (6) of Kenya Constitution, candidates are to provide the following documents.

  1. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority.
  2. Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board.
  3. Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
  4. Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
  5. Clearance from an approved credit reference bureau.

Educational Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Economics, Production Processing, Law, or related fields from a recognized university.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.

Professional Qualification:

  • Relevant professional qualifications.
  • Strategic leadership course or its equivalent lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
  • Membership in a recognized professional body.


  • Over 15 years of work experience in a large commercial entity, preferably in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience at a senior management level.


  • Proven expertise in strategic leadership and corporate governance.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire innovation and creativity among the workforce.
  • Skilled at managing external corporate relationships and media interactions.
  • Knowledge and ability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders across the value chain.
  • Active engagement in relevant trade association networks and awareness of changing business environments.
  • Firm, fair, and transparent management style.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in standard office applications and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
